Hi group,
i have a hard drive that is unreadable, and i need some advice about
recovering the data. here is is the problem:
the drive was originally a win95 drive. i upgraded to win98, and then
used partition magic to diddle the block size. (this is all several
years ago). then i got a wild hair and decided to restore win95. i
ignored the warning about different block sizes and did the restore.
the drive is now unreadable.
i have tried ontrack's personal version of their easy recovery
software with no luck. ontrack said they will recover the data for
~$800. i'd be willing to spend a couple of hundred.
any ideas or war stories? thanks.
