[Thinkpad] Installing USB on Older Thinkpads

I found a Belkin PCMCIA card that allows for the installation of 2 USB.
I am unable to install it on my 365CS at all. On my 760EL, it attempts to
install, but it can't find the right IRQ's. (I can't flash the BIOS on the 760el
because I don't have a good battery.) How can I get into the BIOS and
change the configuration manually on this computer?

Or am I wasting my time; afterall these computers were built just before
the introduction of USB...
