I wish I'd looked at this earlier. This has happened to two A30p's
I deal with. Both happened last year; when I send mine in IBM
freaked out and said I had a toxic thinkpad...

But the problem sounds nearly exactly the same, which was in
the video memory. I run OpenBSD and it popped up nicely
there, and the other person ran Windows.

You might want to tell them this. Sigh -- makes me wonder when
this A31p I have is going to do that. Ah well...
