Hello,

I am going to assume you're talking about Microsoft Windows XP, if not
let me know and I'll adjust my reply accordingly.

The main program file for Microsoft Windows Messenger is named MSMSGS.EXE
and is stored in %programfiles%\Messenger\msmsgs.exe, while the main program
file for Microsoft MSN Messneger is named MSNMSGR.EXE and is stored in
%programfiles%\MSN Messenger, so deleting, renaming or removing the files
or their installation directories is one way to get rid of them.

You can uninstall MSN Messenger from the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs
applet. Windows Messenger, though, is hidden from uninstallation. To
uninstall it manually issue the following command:

   RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
