The reason that the RJ45 port never worked is because it isn't connected to
anything!
Your model T20 came with only a modem in the mini-PCI communication card slot
and not the combination modem/ethernet card that's needed to use the ethernet
port.
Search for the mini combo card on eBay or ask Bruce if he's got one. That will
get you up and running with internal ethernet support and free up your PC card
slot.
