Hello,

There are quite a few other differences from a T20 to T23. The biggie for
me is the 133MHz bus jump from 100MHz; and the PIII chips also being 133MHz
have 512KB cache instead of 256KB, also the possibility to have 1GB of RAM
in The T23 vs. 512MB in T20-22

You won't be able to upgrade afaik the graphics from your 8MB S3 SavageIX to
the 16MB S3 SuperSavageIX. There is not a massive difference, I think 3D
rendering is a shade faster but it is negligible. I was playing Quake II
fine on my T21, and Playstation and SNES games; so the difference won't be
great, it does help with things like XP and Photoshop to have the extra
memory and it is faster in 32bit colour; especially for DVD playback in my
experience; so maybe it is faster then!

My advice is calculate how much all those upgrades will cost; then see the
difference between that cost and an actual T23. Then you should be able to
justify either upgrading the T23; or souping up the T20.

Also, worthy of note, I believe the T23 has ethernet on the carrier board
rather than on mini-pci as in the T20, 21 and 22; reason for this is to
allow for wireless I think, not sure if this applies to all T23s or just
wireless enabled ones. Also the mini-pci slot is bigger on the T23 to the
T21 I had.

Think carefully about it :-)

Vicky
