Re: [Thinkpad] T40: Fan noise (was: Any way to turn off keyboard beep?)

This would be the infamous (?) "buzzing" noise made by some T40 fans. When
running, they don't stay at a constant speed - every 5 - 7 seconds it sounds
like the fan is spinning up (just for a fraction of a second), resulting in
an irritating "buzz" or "click" sort of sound coming from the cooling fan.
IBM disavows any and all knowledge of such a problem, and most other people
that have this problem seem to have found no satisfaction either. =/
