I've got a little funny story upon all this regionstuff.
The DVD-drive in my beloved 770Z was also supposed to be region-set [region
2],
It is said so, in Windows 2000.
A week ago I bought "Amadeus" on DVD, one of my favorites by the way.
Once opened, I discovered, that it was a region-1 disk.

Anyway...I actually tried to play it......and to my surprise, it worked.
*Hurray.mp3*
When I got the 770Z last summer, it came with Win98 preloaded and
Mediamatics DVD Express.
In DVD Express you had to set the region and God have mercy if you tried a
region-1 disk.
Nowadays I'm using Windows 2000 with the standard DVD player.
The DVD-drive is a Matshita SR-8171.
It plays region-1 and 2 disks and I'm a bit stunned.
No firmwareupdates, no nothing, nada, niente, zip....amazing.
Best regards
Brian
