I'd forgotten about the per minute charge that many people outside
the USA might encounter, so thats an excellent reason to get the CD.
If the CD contains everything up to October, that still makes it
better than an SP4 package. That should include the RPC DCOM
fixes too, so one doesn't have to get online 'till all that is applied.
These days, the RPC patch is *CRITICAL*. I had a Win2K machine
that was infected after being online for 7 seconds (yes, 7 seconds)
which was the time from Windows booting up to my reaching in
back to unplug the ethernet cable.

Anything MS can do to make the situation better is that much of
a win. I personally think that they need to come out with SPx
every time some new critical patch comes out. I really don't
care is MS issues SP88.exe -- the idea of being able to give
out ONE file for people to use to patch is a tremendous win,
but MS can't see that. At least they've come out with something.

Windows is diseased, but at least a partial antidote exists.
