[Thinkpad] 365XD is booting directly into hibernation mode

Hello list,

I've got a TP 365XD which switches into hibernation
mode aprox. 10 seconds after the POST. I checked
keyboard, cables and the switches and they're all
good. If I push the function key the laptop starts
resuming, the LEDs light up, the HD starts spinning,
but then falls back into suspend immediately. I assume
a short circuit on the system board, but don't know
where to start looking. Has anyone got an idea?
