Just in case you might have missed a step:

Did you uninstall all versions of Access Connections before installing the driver?
Did you disable Windows 2000 Wireless Configuration?
Then install driver and Access Connections.

You don't have any other network adapter in the machine, do you?
On the Access Connections update page, does the autodetect report the correct wireless adapter?
The reason I ask is that there *is* a driver version 2.4.2.33 on the IBM site at
http://www-306.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-54373 -- but it's for the IBM 11b/g Wireless Mini PCI (NOT even
an a/b/g) -- and supposedly only for the X31 and X40. I'm wondering if AC misidentified your adapter and went looking for the wrong
driver. If so, maybe you should -- before reinstalling AC -- go delete all network adapters except the correct one, then see if AC
can pick the right adapter if there's no other choice.

That package version 3.1 for your Cardbus adapter, BTW, contains drivers for several adapters -- including yours and the IBM a/b/g
Mini PCI -- all version 2.4.1.30.
