Yes, the TP 600 can contain two batteries, as you can exchange the CD or
DVD with a battery for the UltraSlimBay.
As for bases :
Selectabase 600 is a sort of enhanced port replicator.
It will allow you to get more connectors, especially a MIDI/Joystick
connector that is not available on the Thinkpad and a few more USB. .
Please note that the Thinkpad 600 with the selactabay remains quite
portable (it adds about 1,5 kg)
You can then plug the combo TP600 + Selectabay 600 into the PCCard
enabler which will basically allow you to plug in 2 more PCMCIA. Some
PCCard enabler come also with built-in Ethernet.
The SelectaDock is something completely different.
It's just as bulky and heavy as a desktop, but it contains its own power
supply, offers all the connectors you could ever need, plus three PCI
slots where you can put normal desktop PCI cards. It also offers a 5.25"
bay where you can put a normal desktop CD or DVD player/writer (saves a
lot of money if you don't need to burn while on the go). Please note
that the SelectaDock contains its own speakers, but I don't know if it
includes a sound card. Anayway, you can always put a sound card in one
of the PCI slots. Also important : in order to use the Selectadock, you
will need the Selectabase 600.
The good thing with this kind of equiplent, is that it has gotten very
cheap. You should be able to find a selectabase 600 for $15 and a
Selectadock3 for $30.
