Donald,
Try pressing/pinching the screen border while you move
it. If your situation is similar to what mine was
until this week, you may be able to find a "sweet
spot" that you can press on to get the screen to come
on solid.
In my case there was a resistor pulled off the
inverter card and pinching the screen border right at
that spot would make the connection solid.
