Okay, I made a clean new install of XP without the Service Pack.
The first try of hardware-detection the Setup hung. I turned the X20 off
an on again and then it did not hang.
But after the next Reboot (the first "real" Boot of XP) the X20 hung again.
The problem is the same. A "warm"-start causes the freeze, a
"cold"-start works fine.
Because of your advice I removed the installed RAM - the problem remains.
Has anybody else an idea ?
