Hi,
I have an X24, about 6 months old, and it has developed a problem where
when I first open it up after not using it for a couple hours the
trackpoint is responsive, but after I have used it for a little while
(maybe 30 minutes) it becomes more and more sluggish until I can barely
move the cursor.
The only things I can think of is that somehow the heat of the machine
is softening the nub, or perhaps there is some goop in the contacts of
the trackpoint that changes viscosity with heat, or perhaps there are
some damaged electronics which respond differently with heat. Has
anybody else had this problem?
The other thing is that I had a bike crash with the Thinkpad in my bag,
and the case was a little damaged: one of the clasps that keep it closed
broke, and the keyboard was slightly unseated--I just pressed it back
into place. I don't know if this is connected; I didn't notice the
trackpoint problem until some weeks after the crash. I haven't noticed
any other post-crash problems.
Thanks for any advice you can give.
Jake
