Ok, and so I called IBM last Wednesday and sent it to
the repair center on thursday and got it back on
Monday. What they did was to change the keyboard for
me with a new one which is kinda more tacky than
rubbery. But the trackpoint mouse button feels more
comfortable. The cracking noise has also been fixed,
maybe through some screw tightening. And I found out
that the static noise only occurs at the highest
volume level which won't bother me much since I won't
blast the speaker off. Hope this will guide those who
have the same kind of problem.

NOTE: IBM says they can't fix the issue on why the
keyboard jolts down around the arrow keys area.

Regards,

Chris
