So it did. Now I'm very curious about how it got that way, because I
absolutely positively did not press Fn-F8 when shutting it down or
at any time during the day. I've never even used any of the Fn keys
at all.

Weird. I'm glad it's back to normal (or at least to its normal weird
state) now, anyway. Thanks!!
