Hi All
I purchased a T41 back in March and I seem to have encountered an issue with
this machine regarding the parallel port.
In order to play some games I have used schematics to create an adapter that
allows me to connect my SNES Gamepad to my PC through the parallel
interface. The adapter I made works because I have tried it on numerous
machines and laptops, including an older Thinkpad 600 and 600E with no
problems. I have tried cloning the settings for the port from the working
machines (ECP Mode, DMA 3, IO 0x378), same version of the Operating System
and drivers (NTPad XP 2.01). I have even tried alternate drivers (PSXPad)
again with no results at all.
I know the printer port works because when I attached my HP Deskjet Windows
detected it without a fuss. Has anyone else seen something like this, or
experienced weird behavior with devices on the LPT port? Is there any
setting I'm overlooking (I checked the BIOS and the Thinkpad Configuration
app and nothing special came up)?
