You can also use a non-bootable CD and a special boot floppy. Or even
copy the Knoppix CD to a directory (requires a big enough HD, possibly
too big for the 701) and use the same boot floppy. Or, copy the CD to a
directory, and then loadlin in another directory. (Here's the totality
of a batch file that I have on a 560X
for running Knoppix that is stored in a dirctory. The directory
containing this batch file also has miniroot and vmlinuz files swiped
from within Knoppix:
loadlin vmlinuz init=/etc/init lang=en dma initrd=c:\linux\miniroot.gz
ro
When I run this batch file from Windows the machine reboots right into
Knoppix.)
