[Thinkpad] La-Z-Boy vs. R40 Collision - R40 loses.

So, I'm sitting in my La-Z-Boy rocking recliner and lean forward to get out of my chair.
I hear a crunching sound and look down to see my laptop has slipped under the corner of the chair. Oh-Oh !

It looks just fine, externally. So, I open up the screen and find this: http://www.squakmt.com/Cracked.Screen.jpg . OUCH !!!

So, I have an A20M sitting on the shelf that I never bothered to sell on EBay.
Will its screen fit into my R40 ? The FRU's don't match. But, we all know that doesn't always tell the tale.

Here's the details of the FRU numbers from the respective Hardware Maintenance manuals. All advice (including fix/replace tradeoffs, and offers of parts) are appreciated.
