[Thinkpad] How to on 760 ED...?

Hi all

Some really silly things have happened to my 760ED recently that are
bugging me and that I can't remember how to re-set...

First: in W98SE, I have lost the STAND BY option in the Shut Down menu...

Second: The typeface in the Boot sequence and the Win Splash screen are all
over-sized and ugly... how to get back to the diminshed size? I tried
disabling screen expand in W98 Tpad utils but nothing changes...?? Its the
XGA screen version
