[Thinkpad] Cleaning a thinkpad?

Hello,
I recently got a bit of water onto the display case of my thinkpad
600. Now there are some stains on it. And of course after some years
the rubber-like material the outer case of the tp is made of looks a
bit used. Is there anything to know to clean these parts of the tp?
Maybe with alcohol, or simply a wet fabric?
