Subject: [Thinkpad] hARD dRIVE aPAPTER - cABLE pOSITION

Hi List Members,

I need to put my Thinkpad hard drive into a PC for maintenance reasons.

I have put the IDE cable onto the HDD adapter ok, but I'm concerned about
putting the other side of the adapter onto the hard drive.

I'm not sure how to put it on as there is no slot key to ensure not making a
mistake. My question:

With the Thinkpad hard drive in my hand, label-side up and the text
readable, facing me - when the adapter is connected, which side of the hard
drive should the red/black power leads be - left side or right side?

Thanx in advance!

When looking at the HDD from the connector side, the connector beeing on the
bottom :
- the power supply is connected at the most left hand side.
- pin 20 (no connection) is on the bottom,
- the Master/Slave jumpers are on the right side of the HDD connector.
Hope his helps.
A+
