Here's a warning for you - Drive Image as of V7.01 does NOT restore
multiple partition devices correctly. If you were booting off partition
number two the only way out is to restore, then let chkdsk /r run and
move everything back into partition number one, then edit your boot.ini
file to make it use that partition...
I found all this out the hardest possible way, it took about a week of
research to figure it all out. Not to mention several hours of chkdsk
grinding away, etc.
DI 7.01 also doesn't handle USB very well. Yes it does to backup when
you're running XP off your hard disk, but when you boot from the DI cdrom
then you have a very limited choice of drivers available, and the code
that is supposed to load a new driver when booting is very buggy too.
I tried several different drivers and it croaked (differently) on each
one.
I finally got around this using a old 16-bit scsi card that used one of
the drivers (sparrow) already present in the cdrom....
Finally, the tech support at the time (about a year ago now) was unusally
bad. Everything they told me was wrong, not to mention they force you to
endure a very lengthy sales pitch on the phone before you can even speak
with anyone. If you were in a rush that's particularly annoying.
