Hello all
I'm having a problem with an Infowave print server (model PS5100).
I plugs into my Linksys router and has a parallel port for my Canon
printer. It worked for quite a while then stopped.
I suspect the DIP switches got switched into the wrong configuration so
I've been trying to figure that out.
Anyway I've noticed that the device doesn't show up on the Linksys
router DHCP list.
My question is: shouldn't the print server negotiate an IP address from
the router? So as long as the print server doesn't show up on the DHCP
list it can't possible work.
Until I can get it an IP address assigned I shouldn't worry about the
"printer driver" software that makes the Canon printer attached to the
printer server connected to the router via ethernet look like a local
printer.
