Rob
I do appreciate the advice I have received from you and the rest of the
list.
When it comes time to wrassle with the XP desktop (that dare not speak
it's name) I'll be contacting you off list for hints.
However the desktop is in line behind the Win2K 560x and the Solid
State 560x rebuild so it will be a few months.

I'm still inclined towards Win2K partially since I have a copy (the XP
install was preloaded and of course D*** doesn't furnish recover disks)
and partially since Win2K seems to offer most of the capabilities of XP
in a lighter (works on a 560x) package.
That said I am happy to have advisors that can teach me how to live with
XP. After all it's not going away.
Linux is certainly cool but for the amount of effort it would take to
climb up the learning curve I could learn to live with Windows.

It's my new computer game, The Hunt for LPT1.
"What is your Quest?"
"I seek LPT1"
"What is your favorite operating system?"
"Win98, no, Win2K AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
