Subject: [Thinkpad] Is my 770z dead - error codes 173 163
Seasons Greetings All,
This morning the wife boots my old 770z to get the two error codes in the
following order: 173, 163.
According to the hardware maintenance manual, this means 173 Configuration
data was lost, 163, time and date were not set. Both solutions are to click
ok, and set the date and mentions the system board.
When I set the date/time, the boot process continues and I get the screen
with the O or I
OFF ON but can't select anything.
Has my faithfull ole 770z bit the bullet?
Thanks
Dave
