If the T30 restore is XP, it will work just fine, if it boots up and starts
properly (the BIOS may not let it, you have to try).
You will need to update the video and utility drivers after the install is
complete.
Make sure your 600 is set to boot from the CD-ROM FIRST, or you will wind up
with only 1/2 of an install

Subject: [Thinkpad] Inter-model restore??

Hi,

So here's an odd question.. I have a Thnkpad 600E that needs a new
hard drive. I also have a T30. I do not have the original restore disc
for the 600. I do have one for my T30.

Would it work to set up a new HD on the 600 from scratch
using the restore disc from the T30? What will be the problems
with this approach? (Mainly, I assume, the wrong set of device
drivers).

Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Thomas
