Usually the X series are BRIGHTER, because of the smaller screen area.
Make sure the BIOS is set up for full bright, you have it set to turn off all shutoff timers. It should be quite bright.
I do have an X20 here that is for sale, I'll have to take a look at the screen as to brightness.
