USB drives are ok if your use is temporary, but they run a LOT slower than
when the drive is internally installed on an adapter.. File transfers and
date saves are much slower and more fragile as well. If you plan to work for
a while on the desktop, you can buy the adapter at any better computer parts
store such as CompUSA, Frys and so on.
The main difference is in price. The adapters in our area are $.99, The USB
unit with enclosure and cable is quite expensive... But it is handy to have
for future ventures..
And you can always consider the Seagate external USB drive at Wal-Mart which
includes a 40 GB hard drive, 2.5 inch, which can be removed and installed in
a laptop.
The great thing is... the ease and the number of choices.
