I facilitated a Gummint purchase of 3140 A30 and A31's when they first came
out... I just called their tech rep and contracting office out of curiosity.
they have had a few, very few CD-Rom failures but No motherboard failures...
Has these failed motherboards been discussed with IBM? Something is very
wrong here, and I would think IBM would want to make it right... at least to
the point of looking them over. If not interested at the low level, I would
escalate the call. Of course now that it is Lenovo, perhaps they don't have
that same contract support. I would still be surprised if they would want
this to happen.

Most thinkpad failures of that nature are so rare they make this forum

Ray.
