www.buy.com lists the 120 GB 5400 rpm Seagate Momentus hdd as being "in
stock" and the 100 GB 7200 as backordered for "1-2" weeks. Perhaps the 100
GB 7200 HDDs are still "mythical."
This brings up another question: is there much of a performance lag between
the 5400 rpm and the 7200? I currently have the 60 GB 7200 rpm in my
Thinkpad T41P and wouldn't want to degrade the performance much if I can
help it. However, I am out of hard disk space and need to upgrade, so I
have to evaluate the trade-offs.

Yep! While several retail vendors will quote you a price on one,
nobody's actually got any available for sale.
