Right click on My Computer, select Properties, select System Restore. Move
the slider to the left all the way in order to minimize the space taken up
by old restore points. You won't hurt anything. You're just relesing some
space since it's needed. After you click OK, you might have to wait a
minuite while the OS cleans out some old folders and re-allocates the disk
space.

Once that's done, reboot and defrag the hard drive. When that's done, take a
look at the new amount of space available.
