I have an ancient external keyboard that I still use (it's split,
but instead of copying MS's error in putting "6" on the left, it
has it on the right). The keyboard is sold old it's 5-pin DIN with
a PS2 adapter!
When I bought my T41p, I bought a Y-adapter that takes a PS2 mouse
and keyboard and converts them to a single USB. It seems to be
broken, is there any way I can test it?
What happens is that when I plug it into the T41, with or without
the keyboard attached, I get "USB Device Not Recognized". Clicking
on the bubble for assistance, I get a window that says I should try
disconnecting and reconnecting it, if that fails replace the
device.
Now it was only C$20 or so, but is there any easy way to test it
beyond "Windows doesn't recognize"? I see a single PS2-to-USB
adapter is down around C$7 (tigerdirect.ca) and since the old PS2
mouse has long since died, I probably don't need the Y-connector
any more. I'd hate to throw it out if there's a way to test.
Thanks!
