802.11 g is 802.11 g
It works or it does not.
"Standard" means, in plain English, STANDARD. That means that everything
that complies to the STANDARD will work with each other.
The power consumption of a mini-PCI card is a non issue. It could not make a
difference of more than a minute or two of battery use.
