[Thinkpad] X20 screen and ebay?

All,

I need to replace the screen on my X-20 or replace the machine entirely.
A screen is currently up for auction on ebay however I notice a few
strange things:

1) The seller has both an X20 base and screen for sale in separate
auctions both of which claim the item being sold is good - why separate
them out then?
2) The bid history seems fishy to me with a newbie appearing to
arbitrarily inflate the auction price even when they are the high
bidder?

I have decided to bypass this one but could someone comment on if my
concerns are well founded - I am not an active ebay participant although
I have been a member for some considerable time.
