Even by when I bought my first 2 seagates - 10 MB and then a 20 MB for PC
XT machines.

The 20 MB drive eventually succumbed to 'stiction' - wouldn't start
spinning but I was able to get it going by nudging the spindle underneath.
Got a lot of grief from coworkers about having a hard drive that needed a
rope start:-(

But the happy moment with the XT was when the power supply died and I was
able to replace it with a PC Power and Cooling Silencer - what a
difference!

As a computer, I find your faith in technology amusing.
