Or, that doesn't work, the following keystrokes in order:
Alt-SysRq-S
Alt-SysRq-U
Alt-SysRq-O
This will Sync the disks, Unmount the disks, and poweroff the computer,
without stopping any tasks. It's very dirty, but whether it works or not,
it'll bring other options to the table.
