[OmniBook] OB 6000 - new HD clicks, but notebook works fine...

A few months ago, I replaced the HD in my OB6000 with the HD from my MP3
player (Hitachi 20GB).  Shortly before I did so, I spilled black coffee
on the OB6000 and had to clean it out.

Since that time the notebook has been working perfectly well and I have
used it daily.

But the new HD has always made this strange clicking sound.  After it
has been idle for a few seconds and when a disk access is required, the
HD seems to spin up, and then there's this sound almost like a tiny whip
cracking.  This sound happens twice, and then there's silence.

It sounds as if the hard drive is automatically spinning down every few
seconds and then spinning up again and the heads are constantly
resetting themselves.

I have all the power settings to "always on".

Maybe the coffee shorted something out?  Or, maybe it's just a noisy
hard drive?
