[OmniBook] Hp Omnibook xt1000 Help Needed!!!

Hi

i read on a forum that you had a problem like i am having. my omnibook xt1000 (which I bought slightly more than 1 year ago) doesn't turn on anymore when working on battery. Moreover, if it is connected to the external power and I unplug it, it immediately turns off. It looks like a dead battery, but it worked OK until some days ago (the battery showed some signs of aging, but not that much). Moreover, I tried the recalibration utility (F6 at boot) but as soon as I start it the notebook turns off. can you help me out pls. i am running windws xp.
