[OmniBook] 6100 trackpad / mouse problems in XP (updated driver?)

Hi All,

I'm running Windows XP Pro on my omnibook 6100 and for the most part it 
works great. But, but the mouse and trackpad seem to have some strange 
behavior.

When I start moving the mouse, it will move at the normal rate, then 
stop, then jump to where it should be normally. I was thinking it was 
the trackpad at first, but i replaced the keyboard with a new pointer 
and the pointer does the same thing.

I installed linux on another partition and it works PERFECTLY, which 
tells me it can't be a hardware issue. I've installed the latests 
trackpoint XP driver i can find from the HP website, but the problem is 
unchanged. Does anyone know if there is a updated XP trackpoint driver 
from Windows Update that works?

Has anyone experienced this before?
