[OmniBook] 1024x768x32 res not avail after upg from Xfree 7.0.0 to 7.1.1

Hi all,
   I recently upgraded my Omnibook XE3GF from Xorg 7.0.0 to 7.1.1.

Before:
   I successfully used i810 driver with a res of 1024x768 at 32bpp

After:
   I can only use 1024x760 at 16bpp, non accelerated, using the fbdev 
driver. The i810 one simply freezes my video.

Please please please tell me why... I read a lot of things (on this list 
and the Internet) about i830M problems with BIOS and shadow RAM... but 
PRIOR the upgrade ALL WAS GOOD...
