your wiki states that the ECTYPE for a toshiba M35X is 12, however the
only ECTYPE that works well is 1.  this has a few minor issues though,
as fan, fan_policy, and half of hotkeys doesn't work.  I "echo on >
/proc/omnibook/hotkeys" but fn+F2-F4 still do absolutely nothing.
their key icons are a lightbulb, an arrow pointing at RAM, and an
arrow pointing at the harddrive.  I think they are "turn off the
screen" "suspend to RAM" and "Suspend to disk"

fan always reports 21 or 23, regardless of how fast the fan is spinning.

if I use the reccomended ECTYPE of 12, there is absolutely no hotkeys
support and no fan support.

Can you tell me how to find the model number on my machine - if I remember  
correctly there was a command to print an owner's manual for the machine.

hi all!

i've a toshiba satellite m50. i loaded the module successfully with
ectype=12 parameter. now i want to enable/disable wifi/bluetooth echoing
1/0 in wifi/bluetooth under /proc/omnibook, but disabling and reenabling
wifi/bluetooth, it seems not functional (the wireless connection is dead
also after reenable wifi). the kill swith is obviously on (wifi
enabled). i must go with windows, reenable wifi/bluetooth with fn+f8,
and return to linux. how to use fn+f8 under linux to enable/disable
wifi/bluetooth?
